Review of Maps to the Stars (2014) by Matt G — 04 Jun 2015
Cronenberg is clearly letting out some steam about the incestuous nature of the Hollywood system in his most recent outing. But whereas his films used to be full of piercing imagery over their opaque tones, he has skipped the piercing and simply gone for the opaque here.
Like a less-assured or successful Mulholland Dr,, MttS manages to confound more than enlighten or entertain.
