Review of Map of the Sounds of Tokyo (2009) by Sera F — 03 Jan 2010
Last insert song was Antony Hegarty? nice choice.
I was really looking forward to watch this. I liked last films of Isabel Coixet and she said this movie is more real and inner japan view than Lost in Translation. She was making fool of american view of japan in a interview but I like Lost in Translation much better.
I think its focused too much about Tokyo so that story actually seems bit ordinary and cheap love story.(maybe its different ofcourse if you don't know about japan)But some words or narration sounds bit too much for making dramatic. Also Rinko kikuchi is great but maybe Ito Ayumi would've done better for this film. And what was about kissing time in the park??? I didn't get it.
