Review of Mao’s Last Dancer (2009) by Fabien B — 04 Nov 2009
Finally get to see this movie before it's gone! I was not sure how the movie was going to be. However, now after watching it, I love it. Adapted from the famous biography with the same title, the story is about the life of Li Cunxin, who was born in a poor family during Mao Zhedong's regime - but then rose to become one of the world's best ballet dancer.
I love how the director of the movie approach the movie and the dances. I'm sure some parts are just romanticized, but still it was a wonderful story.
