Review of Mao’s Last Dancer (2009) by Summer B — 26 Aug 2010
A good film. I haven't read the book so I dont know whether it is 'done justice', but it is a beautiful story. Slightly disjointed at times, but there are touching portrayals of Li's passion for dance, his adjustment to capitalistic American culture and the inner turmoil he faces in having to choose between his family in a small town in China and the art he loves.
