Review of Manufacturing Consent: Noam Chomsky and the Media (1992) by Mike C — 08 Jan 2010
At times the technology makes the film difficult to watch, but the message is well worth it. So many examples, but the one example that stands out is the freedom of speech issue in France. Why so many cannot distinguish between supporting free speech and supporting the message of the speech is beyond me.
But it is one easy way to discredit a fella. I have my own intellectual heroes, and Chomsky is not necessarily one of them -- largely because he's so deep and can get over my head -- but watch enough of him and it would be hard to argue there is anyone who knows so much about so many things.
