Review of Manufactured Landscapes (2006) by Mark G — 13 Sep 2008
Incredibly insightful film on the workd of Burtynksy. I wondered how they would be able to make a film about his photography without overstating the powerfully understated message of his art, but this doc does the trick.
It's probably a bit slow for most people, but photographers and fans of art photography wil more than likely find it fascinating. It's hard to believe anyone could turn global ecological destruction into esthetically pleasing art with a message, but Burtynksy makes it a reality with his photography.
