Review of Mannequin (1987) by Jeremy N — 23 May 2008
A perfect metaphorical soliloquy of what we all have thought or wished for at one time or another. Indeed, it is a fantasy and yearning of the heart masquerading itself as merely just a film. This magnificent piece taps into America's nay all of mankind's deepest and most honorable fantasy: A mannequin in a bikini that, for no discernible reason, sometimes becomes a real person.
This is a film, no less a symbol of human expression at its most acute and its most visceral emotional and intellectual level.
This, my friends, is filmmaking excellence.
Bravo, Michael Gorrlieb... Bravo.
