There can be different meanings contrived from this film. the mannequin,as an animate object which comes to life is absurb but interesting concept. The aspect of a spirit being trapped in a manneqiun does grace the minds or plagues the 'what if' question into our minds.
Looking from a feminsit angle the mannequin character is purelly for the entertainment and company of the male protagonist. This film is liberal in the portrayal of things that are socially unacceptable in society in the period the film was made.
