Review of Manjhi: The Mountain Man (2015) by Yash B — 20 Feb 2016
Awesome Biopic but could have done more. Manjhi's determination was close to madness, the journey we were shown was a significant one for the actions he took and others reactions to it. The movie shows us a very different & realistic view of rural backwater India, touching lots of sensitive issues and practices but not getting muddled with them.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui gives a brilliant performance, really gets into the skin of the character. Felt the story, script & acting deserved better production values, also felt there was much more scope in squeezing the many emotional scenes.
Ketan Mehta does a good job of direction just it could have been much better.
