Review of Manic (2002) by Tyler R — 24 Jan 2008
I hesitate to credit movies that try to portray the experience of psychiatric institutions because most of the time they are Hollywood-ized and unrealistic, but there's something about this movie that makes me watch it again and again.
Maybe it's the cinematography that makes you feel like you're mind is fading in and out or it's that the characters are well developed, but I can't get enough of this film. The scene where Lyle and Chad are smoking weed in the bathroom and talking about going to Amsterdam was amazingly realistic and hilarious.
