Review of Maniac Cop 2 (1990) by Kayla K — 22 Jun 2008
I last minute found out about this screening, and seeing how I was already in town, and I had had a bad day, I decided to be up for it. The trailers were great. And, seeing the vice cop trailer, made me realize that that movie has somehow wormed it's way into my heart -ACK!
I remember maniac cop 2, but not one of those strong memories. There are so many elements I like, the unrest of the dead, situations that are turned around, fire sequences... There are so so so many things I love about this one, but I found it really hard to fight off the sleepy germs. --I never went to sleep, but I was continually drifting. It's almost like this movie is so goGoGO! that it wore me out too soon.
Turkell with his bushy do, is the serial killer I have to love. He's the ultimate serial killer fanboy taking notes form the masters in order pull off his own. What I love the most about him is he does these things like kill strippers/call girls, but not for vigilante purposes; he puts their headshots in the form of a cross, but not for religious purposes; it's like he's trying to figure out his M.O..
Lustig was in the audience and he was joyful and jolly. I'm not such a fan of the Q&A... People don't raise their hands giving the illusion of not caring, or they just give comments, or they ask awful questions... I'd much rather have these "stars" people come in and and tell lil' anecdotes. Lustig did a lot of that, mostly about the stunt work. And, all I know now, is I want some of that Fire gel!
