Review of Maniac Cop (1988) by Alex B — 05 Oct 2014
Second time I've seen this film. Got the Blu-Ray from ARROW recently and really wanted to like it as I loved LUSTIG's MANIAC but it disappoints on all levels.The death scenes feel clumsy and half baked whilst the killer simply has no real presence or is not frightening in any way.
The film is also lacking in funny characters/dialogue/nuts scenes that can make a bad horror/slasher flick entertaining or transform it into an amazing B-movie. Nothing memorable about it in any way for me.
Shame.
