Review of Maniac (2012) by Courtney K — 13 Sep 2013
I don't really know that I liked it, but I didn't not like it either -- I tend to gravitate towards psycho thrillers for some reason. it's entirely filmed from the killers point of view -- which is different than most.
and not that I know much about acting, but it seemed as though this was an easy role for Elijah to play only because we only ever saw him when he looked at himself through a mirror, otherwise we only heard his voice.
and because he played a psycho killer, there really is no need for emotional voice inflections. anyways. typical psycho movie -- mommy issues make relationships as an adult impossible only making him kill and scalp his victims; attaches the hair to manikins he builds and has himself the nonliving family and friends he never had as a child.
i've never seen the original so I can't really compare them, but it wasn't horrible.
