Review of Maniac (2012) by Steven M — 31 Oct 2013
It occassionally alternates between 1st & 3rd person POV (its one main problem), but other than that its solid. Beautifully shot with vivid colors & doesn't shy away from Aja's (High Tension) unflinchingly realistic gore.
The shots where Wood's (Frodo) looks at himself in mirrors felt like he was reflecting on how the world sees him physically & mentally, whereas the 1st person POV shots were his true state of mind & being.
Definitely one of the better horror remakes of recent years.
