Review of Maniac (1980) by Steffigy? — 12 May 2008
This movie is what it is supposed to be: horrific. It makes the viewer uncomfortable and at ill ease. If you are into gore, then you'll love it. The special effects are quite amazing, especially for the era.
Where the film falls apart is within the premise of a "love interest" for Frank Zito (Caroline Monro). I wouldn't call it a casual view or date movie. This surely isn't for everyone.
