Review of Manhunter (1986) by Caitlyn S — 26 May 2008
This was unapologetically 80s which I guess is typical michael mann. I think this is the weakest story of all the lecter books and neither this nor red dragon engaged me as much as the other books and films in the series.
it was interesting hearing about how the film was made where noone got to meet the guy who played the tooth fairy until the moment they filmed so as to heighten the suspense, still, he wasn't really the most creepy villain and brian cox's lecter was maybe not really developed enough or maybe just underused so I didn't really find him that unnerving.
the music was very random but again, as an 80s stereotype movie, it has its place.
