Review of Manhunter (1986) by Lindsay Elizabeth M — 02 Jul 2008
A pre CSI William Peterson as a broken-down investigator who has to face the demons that almost killed him to catch a nasty serial killer. Brian Cox provides serious menace (and is underused, but who knew?) as Hannibal Lecter.
This stylish, well-directed, well paced procedural is marred by an 'electronic' score that dates it very badly. Still, the climax, set to Iron Butterfly is freaky as fuck.
