Review of Manhunter (1986) by Johanna M — 10 Jan 2009
Got to see this underrated movie once again over the break. It still stands up to time. William Petersen is the man who captured Hannibal Lecter and now needs him to solve another case. Excellent acting by Petersen (of CSI) and Brian Cox as Lecter.
I think they remade this later as a movie called Red Dragon (which was the actual title of the book) which I saw a short bit of and hated. This version still creeped us out after all these years! (though there really isn't gore--it's more about the suspense.
) A plus is that it was directed by Michael Mann ("Heat").
