Review of Manhunter (1986) by Paul A — 18 May 2009
Probably as good as Slience of the Lambs and at least 8 and half times as good as the mediocre, Ratner directed Red Dragon.
Bryan Cox is arguably a better actor than Anthony Hopkins and brings something different and less panto to Hannibal Lector... which I am as yet undecided if I prefer....
Peterson is great as troubled Manhunter 'Will Graham' as is Tom Noonan as the tooth fairy. Combined with Michael Mann's usual visual flair and great soundtrack this is a must watch for anyone who thought Lector started with Lambs....
