Review of Manhunter (1986) by Kenneth L — 22 Aug 2009
If you ever wondered what would happen if CSI was given two full hours to flesh out a story and an R-rating to take things to the extreme, then this is a movie for you. Beyond that, this is an excellent film with a stable of actors who are not A-list stars but certainly deliver A-level performances.
The film does suffer from being dated (it definitely came from the 80s). Also, it is a bit overly stylized. As one of Mann's earlier films, he seems to have have put too much of his fingerprint onto the film.
But, as a fan of Mann's, I really didn't mind.
