Review of Manhunter (1986) by Alex M — 17 Jan 2010
Michael Mann knew what he was doing right from the get go. I seriously prefer this fascinating crime film over The Silence of the Lambs. Visually, it seems to have way more going on. Musically, the film takes some interesting chances as well.
I found it captivating throughout mainly due to an extremely tight script. Mann also lets us in on the killer's POV with great results. All in all, Manhunter remains the best of the Hannibal movies.
