Review of Manhunter (1986) by Sidney S — 14 May 2011
A solid crime-thriller. Michael Mann (director of Heat, Collateral and Public Enemies), an expert at this genre film makes this near the begining of his career. Manhunter is a disturbing and dark toned film.
The plot however may lose you at times and can get confusing and boring, I may require another viewing of the film however. William Petersen does a good job playing Will Graham at times it reminded me of his CSI character, Gil Grissom.
Brian Cox gives an ok potrayal of Hannibal "Lecktor" (still don't understand why they didn't spell it correctly, Lecter.) he is not nearly as frightening as Anthony Hopkins is in the role and doesn't play the mind games quite as good as Hopkins.
