Review of Manhunter (1986) by Zachary K — 02 Jul 2012
The cast is good (William Petersen and Tom Noonan, in particular), and the pace allows the movie to breeze along at a comfortable pace. Not as stylish as I've read about, but there's one particular sequence in which someone breaks into the house while "In-a-Gadda-Da-Vida" plays over the speakers.
It's brilliant and to me is one of the best music set pieces in film history. And, I didn't know this at the time, but Stephen Lang from Avatar is in this, curly carroty hair and a tacky purple suit.
Very weird seeing him like that.
