Review of Manhattan (1979) by Ashley C — 10 Feb 2009
I can understand why so many people consider this film Woody's peak. While I think he did some of his best writing in the following decade, there's something about the balance here between the screenplay, the performances, and Gordon Willis' cinematography that surpasses the sum.
I wouldn't know to compare my love life to August Strindberg's were it not for this film.
