Review of Manhattan (1979) by Curtis H — 30 Dec 2011
Very Woody Allen, but very refreshing at the same time. His charm exists in surrounding his own neurotic persona with interestingly flawed individuals, and giving us the privilege of witnessing their flawed interactions.
This movie accomplishes that goal wonderfully and unpretentiously (even humbly by Allen's standards). Worth a watch, if only to experience how intellectuals are just as lost in the world as the rest of us.
