Review of Manhattan (1979) by Daniel D — 03 Nov 2012
I haven't watched a good ole Woody Allen for awhile, and while this wasn't a bad one, it doesn't compare to the likes of Annie hall and Midnight in Paris. I personally was a bit turned off by the black and white, since Manhattan is a colorful city, atleast some symbolic coloring like that in schindlers list would help.
It was still masterful in its dialect, but the whole love triangle got old and was awkwardly paced. Woodys a genius no doubt, but I'll be in the minority and say this is just a decent piece.
