Review of Manglehorn (2015) by Timm S — 22 Jun 2017
Al Pacino's 'Cast Away' Moment As He Is The Lead In A Film Where The Majority Of Time Is Spent In His Own Thoughts, Talking To Himself Or A Cat. Without Him Cast In This Lead Role It Most Probably Would Of Become A Failed Project.
Many Of The Small Roles That Do Engage With Him Are Not Well Developed, It Is Confusing At Times & The Moods-Themes Chops & Changes So Much It Becomes A Rabble Of Ideas. Some Of It Is Tragic, Some Bits Hit A Good Mark, Whilst Other Bits Are Just Stupid.
I Still Found It All Okayish But Mostly Because The Music Added Some Unusual Tones. I Would Not Recommend This As A 'Comedy' Tho As Some Have...It Doesn't Even Manage Dark Comedy. It Is More Of A Tragic Requiem.
