I feared that this film would fail to live up to expectations, but to me, it was brilliant, painting a picture of a complex personality behind the icon. It really made me appreciate the Mandela's personal sacrifices and the journey into spiritual growth he made.
He never claimed to be perfect, and this film shows him far from that. The only slight minus is that the old Mandela's face is not nearly as expressive as the real Mandela's due to prosthetics.
But that takes little away from the enjoyment.
