Review of Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom (2013) by James G — 08 Jan 2014
I was there! I saw that! Lots of tear-jerking memorable re-enactments of now famous scenes from the very public life of one of the world's great leaders. Although the film itself isn't particularly cinematic (this feels more like a good quality made-for-TV movie), there's no doubting Elba's central performance although for me, it's Naomie Harris as Winnie Mandela who steals the show.
A good DVD movie.
