A conventional, safe biopic that celebrates the highlights of Nelson Mandela's life. It works as a faithful and glossy chronicle but the film lacks depth as it tries to cover too much material within a 2+ hours running time.
The end result feels like a History channel special devoid of a compelling story to drive the narrative.
