Review of Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom (2013) by Lilianetty L — 05 May 2014

This had mixed reviews upon release but I thought it was a great and worthy tribute to the man's autobiography. It doesn't paint him as a saint which would have been very easy to do and both Idris Elba and Naomie Harris give fantastic performances.

I would say it does brush over his earlier life a little too quickly but maybe that would have over stretched the already lengthy running time had they covered more. Powerful film that is well worth your time.
