I was so excited to see this. Unfortunately, it ended up being a super slow, bloated, pointless depressfest with no character arc, no redemption and acting that was so boring and lifeless at times that I got mad (not to mention some REALLY bad editing flaws brought on by poor shot design and cinematography).
The even worse thing is that there were time when redemption and character arc could have happened, but got away. It probably deserves a two, but the let down from the Oscar hype means it gets 1 star.
