Review of Manchester by the Sea (2016) by Nvnick — 04 Jan 2017
I think some people didn't like this film because of "silence" and I usually am one of those people (for example, True Detective season 2). But, here it adds to the film somehow. The film rarely deals with the normal confrontational way drama is presented.
We often see the in between moments of the events, or the aftermath - and when paired with excellent acting this made it seem more genuine. There was something about the way it was written and the screenplay, that make the characters more real than those in most other films I've seen.
