Overrated.
Yes, the plot is great and some scenes are masterfully filmed. The acting is solid, but not Oscar worthy, especially not Michelle Williams'...I wish she wasn't in this movie. I always feel like she constantly plays the same character and SOMEHOW gets nominated by the Academy. There has to be something behind that...something obscene.
The ending could have been better and more believable. The acting and reactions from the boy are flat and insincere.
Great that Casey Affleck gets work thanks to his brother and his friend Matt Damon. There is one lesson we can learn from him, Polanski, Allen etc.: If you are white and have a trustworthy gang, then no matter what you do and are, you are still "on fleek" and get a job...and awards.
