Review of Manchester by the Sea (2016) by Konrad P — 15 Sep 2017
I did not think this movie was good. It was just another movie trying to win an award in the modern era and sadly it did for Best Actor. In this film Casey Affleck constantly mumbles and talks in a low tone making every line difficult to hear. This movie is trying to portray a real guy struggling with losing his kids, but the acting of Casey was extremely phoned in. I thought it would be better for Lucas Hedges, the teenager in the movie. Not only were his lines written like what a real teenager would be like, Lucas' acting was great as well. This movie did use many cliches and 'cheap tricks' that most movies use nowadays, but it did it in such a poor way.
This is all just my opinion, and seeing the ratings for this people MUST'VE thought Casey's acting was superb for whatever reason.
