Review of Man with a Movie Camera (1929) by Chris M — 16 Jul 2007
To say this movie was skillfully and amazingly shot is an understatement. It's visual elegance. The film's artistry and premise make it one of the best arguments for formalism I can imagine. The social commentary feels a bit stilted now, but that's an anachronistic interpretation considering the historical context.
