Review of Man with a Movie Camera (1929) by Tq A — 24 Feb 2009
In 1929, Soviet filmmaker Dziga Vertov & his editor/wife, Vertova (?), codified the language of film with this work. The world has not looked at itself the same way ever since. Camera logic is all the narrative needed here. If it isn't already, this monumental work should be primer and bible for all those who fracture the world with angles and perspectives then piece it back together again.
All languages have their own grammars, this film greatly influenced mine.
