Review of Man Push Cart (2006) by Susan S — 13 Dec 2007
Like "Bicycle Thieves" in modern-day NYC, only even more heartbreaking. The city, unromanticized and shot largely at night, feels real. The shots in the deserted Toys R Us parking lot at night are my favorite.
There is a bit of everything-that-can-go-wrong-will Dogme-tism at play here, but the film's emotional honesty trumps the occasional plot machinations.
