Review of Man Push Cart (2006) by Forrest K — 12 Jul 2009
A brutal portrayal of an impoverished stranger in a strange land. It's a bit too brutal at times - melodramatically so - and I much preferred Bahrani's "Chop Shop," because in that film the small joys make the tragedies that much deeper.
"Man Push Cart" is pretty much a joyless slog, but it's undeniably a powerful film.
