Review of Man on Wire (2008) by Tom S — 23 Aug 2010
Inspiring documentary about French tightrope walker Philippe Petit, who in the 1970s hatched an audacious plan to perform his act between New York's twin towers. Although the terrible fate of the buildings themselves is never far from the viewers mind, this remains an enthralling tribute to the human spirit.
There is something very moving about watching one man's determination to realise a seemingly impossible dream and the sight of Petit walking between the towers stays long in the memory.
