Review of Man on Wire (2008) by Mike B — 13 Jun 2012
Experiencing again Philippe Petit's extraordinary high-wire drama in all it's vertigo-inducing close-up on the big screen produced a montage of stunning frozen images that have stayed with me. But the film's structure seems fragmented and lacked the artistry and focus of the events portrayed.
It wove the frenetic danger and immediacy of the illicitly filmed; but without the weft of exploring in any depth the psychological motivation of the man himself.
