Review of Man on the Moon (1999) by Joe N — 06 Apr 2009
Much like Andy Kaufman's actual audiences, I had a lot of wtf moments. Not as many laughs, but lots of wtfs. Jim Carrey as Tony Clifton was hilarious! Paul Giamatti was good as him too. Maybe the character was just hysterical. I'll give the the actors the benefit of the doubt. Jim Carrey though, in probably his best performance.
Tons of cameos.
Movie sparked a real interest in the real Andy Kaufman. He was quite the guy, I must say. I found his antics funnier when I read about them then in the movie. Again, I was like wtf. Not a bad wtf, just a confused one.
Definitely worth a watch.
