Man on the Moon starts out with a wonderful Jim Carrey as Andy Kaufman breaking the fourth wall. Where he fucks with the actual viewer to try and show that this movie is not an average comedy. In fact, the movie isn't that funny at all.

Which is pretty misleading because it's about late comedian Andy Kaufman. Andy Kaufman is the original prankster. A man who causes controversy to able to pull off elaborate pranks that lasts for weeks, maybe months.

And the reason why they so good, is because they seem like they are real. The only problem though is that it isn't that funny. Instead, it makes you squirm. Knowing that Jim Carrey is going to get the shit out of for being who he is, an elaborate prankster who is very eccentric.

The acting is pretty incredible, from Danny DeVito, Paul Giamtti, and Jim Carrey (who is Oscar worthy). Overall, Man on the Moon is a comedy that isn't very funny, but what it does have is incredible performances.
