Not big on the desperado / vigillante thing but then again I've never had a loved one kidnapped from me in Latin America. If a man's lucky he has a "Pita" in his life. To call it a weakness would be a mistake. I've seen it in sport. When a fighter thinks he's been robbed it's best you steer clear. You don't want to be the next opponent because rules seldom apply. In "Creasy's" mind a line has been crossed. They took something and - if he does nothing else - he's coming to get it.

Denzel Washington brings a lot to the role. He's haunted by single thought; "DO YOU THINK GOD'LL FORGIVE US FOR WHAT WE'VE DONE?" Thus sets the stage for his Act III / Act IV run. His concept of right and wrong are already under fire then he's hit with that one last breath - the balloon pops. Sensible people don't act on road rage but "Creasy" can. After all, this movie isn't called Well-Rounded Man. Great writing. Great casting. Great music, "...on the blue bayou..." An instant classic. Two thumbs up!

"She showed him it was alright to live again. And they're gonna wish they never touched a hair on her head. A man can be an artist in anything: food, whatever.... It depends on how good he is at it. Creasy's art is death and he's about to paint his masterpiece." - Rayburn (Christopher Walken).
