Review of Man on Fire (2004) by Ken K — 22 Jan 2015
If I am a director lucky enough to have Denzel Washington to play the lead in my movie I do some very simple things. I surround him with the best supporting cast I can, enlist the services of the best technicians known in the film business and then let Mr.
Washingto do what he does better than any actor in holywood. The last thing I would do would be to use cheap, confusing camera tricks that could quite possibly detract from the power of a great actors work.
Tony Scott did just that but even with those minuses Denzel shines through. Dakota Fanning is also very special for an actor of any age.
