Review of Man on Fire (1987) by Zach O — 22 Apr 2011
The characters are strong, the action satisfys, and the Father-Daughter chemistry between Denzel Washington and Dakota Fanning plays to an emotional and tear-jerking effect, but unfortunately, Man On Fire suffers from its dull pacing and uneven script.
And while director Tony Scott can't entirely be blamed for such shortcomings, he is at fault when it comes to the complex style that tries too hard to cover up the flaws instead of working to overcome them.
