Review of Man on Fire (1987) by Ian C — 05 Jan 2014
Legendary director Tony Scott serves up a nice serving of revenge, Denzel style. Washington washed up, alcoholic former United States intelligence agent turned bodyguard. While protecting a ten year old girl he begins to feel human again, until she is kidnapped by a Mexican gang.
Denzel sets out to hunt down and kill all responsible for her disappearance. Washington is immense and his torture techniques are top notch, Scott as always is the balls and Christopher Walken and Mickey Rourke offer good support.
Nothing new here but as revenge flicks go this does exactly what it is suppose to.
