Review of Man on a Ledge (2012) by Matt L — 22 Oct 2012
There was way more to this movie than what I first thought when I started watching it, which is good, because it could have ended up being just another Phone Booth ripoff. Don't get me wrong, I like Phone Booth, but this one was strengthened by the story - definitely not by the acting. Sam Worthington is not worth going to the movies for based on his dramatic skills, but he is typically involved with exciting plots as of late. This plot has a lot going for it. It doesn't conceal itself perfectly, but it is excellently layered. The story's pacing is really quite good too.
The movie would be more memorable if there was some emotionally-charged characters fleshing out the parts rather than character holes being filled with actors.
