Review of Man on a Ledge (2012) by Jay L — 25 Jun 2012
"Today is the day that everything changes..".
An exceptionally cool and slickly paced heist thriller thats along the same lines as The Score and Entrapment. A spectacularly entertaining and a thrill a minute roller coaster that hits a high note among heist films, a searingly suspenseful and highly thrilling acheivement. Im not sure as to why the critics beat up on this film, I found it to be a superbly pulse pounding and twist a minute entertaining film. Director Asgar Leth's feature length film directorial debut is a damn good one. Man On A Ledge is full of slick twists and turns, intense action sequences, a pulse poundingly fitting score and an intricately told plot and storyline. A suicide attempt is much more than it actually seems in this inventive and strongly compelling intelligent piece of filmmaking. A heist film that joins the ranks of some of the better heist films that ive seen. A thunderous piece of entertainment thats insanely absorbing and and well crafted throughout, the script slips a little bit, but thats the only low point in a seriously solid film. Its smart, its fun, its slick, its stylish and its a full blown frenetic and frenziful endeaver from start to finish, its packed with more twists and turns than an epic maze and keeps you glued to the tv throughout the entire run time.
The acting is good and the cast is stacked as well. Sam Worthington is back on the big screen and does a great job throughout. Elizabeth Banks keeps getting better and better. Anthony Mackie does well and its always good to see one of my personal favorite actors Ed Harris.
