Review of Man of the House (2005) by Clay B — 02 Oct 2010
One of those films it's not cool to admit to enjoying. It's not going to win any Oscars, but it's a well produced piece of work with enough layers to entertain throughout and does not deserve it's RT 8%.
This must have been a difficult one to market. It's a very good teen movie, especially for girls, but with Tommy Lee Jones up front and personal on the posters, no teenage girl went to see it. For the rest of us who love this Lee Jones character he does so well, only about 10% of the movie meets those needs. It's unfortunate, but they should have sold the five cheerleaders up front and had Tommy as back-up star, much like that guy from Friends did for that Zac kid in 17.
No complaints here. Put it in front of a bunch of 14+ girls and you'll see how right they got it.
